Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I painted this while in Scotland, staying in Stirling in 2000. My family and I visited Edinburgh Castle, a naturally strong defensive position, with beautiful history and architecture on the outside, and elegant design inside the rooms.
